For many people getting over relationships is hard, and the effects of separation can change their mindset and thoughts for a long time. Through separation there is also an aspect of begging and this side is shown through Bebe Rexha’s song “Visions(let go).”
The beginning of the song shows how the singer is still in disbelief and shock of the break up with the lyrics: “I can read the signs written in your eyes/How do you sleep in your bed of lies.” Throughout the song there is also a backing vocal making the listener feel like she is not alone through her desperate pleas.
Throughout the song, Rexha is still fighting the truth saying in the pre chorus, “The truth is dangerous/ I don’t want to face it. During the second verse she sings, “All I see are visions of another life/standing in the eye of the hurricane/I pray it’ll wash away your pain.” These lyrics show how even though something has happened between them, she still cares about him and wants nothing but the best for him.
“Visions(let go)” is the seventh of 12 songs on Bebe Rexha’s third full length album “Bebe” released on April 28, 2023. Bebe Rexha was originally highlighted when she released her song “I can’t stop drinking about you” in 2014. She became even more prominent with her song “Meant to Be” featuring the chain smokers in 2017, which is still her biggest hit today.
In her early career Rexha was mainly country focused but has since transitioned to more of a pop and R&B with some EDM inspiration as well.
