Starr’s Mill won their second straight region match 10-0 over Forest Park on Friday night. Junior Katelyn LaRusso led the way with four goals in her first varsity start, while senior Leslie Logan accounted for four goals as well, scoring three goals and adding one assist. Also scoring for the Panthers were junior Ashley Broderick with two goals and senior Lauren Yoss with one goal. Junior Ashton Nowicki and seniors Riley Clark, Laurel Parker, and Dylan Patterson each had one assist.

Goalkeepers senior Ashlyn Walloch and junior Spencer Dawson combined for the team’s second shutout without a save as the defense of Nowicki, Patterson, sophomores Sara Biddle and Lauren Avidano, and juniors Sky Dedrick and Ansley Peurifoy did not allow a chance. Freshman Merritt Parker created several chances cancelled out by great stops by the Forest Park keeper as Avidano, Broderick, LaRusso, sophomore Macey Voorhies, and senior Laurel Parker controlled the midfield.

The team now enjoys a four day break before returning next week. Their next game is another region encounter on Feb. 23, as they host Charles Drew in Panther Stadium at 5:55 p.m. Come out and support your Panthers!
