After finishing second in their first competition at McIntosh, the Starr’s Mill varsity and junior varsity cheerleaders had their second competition of the year at Whitewater High School hoping to improve in order to be prepared for state.

“I think they did a great job last weekend,” head coach Heather McNally said. “They improved from the weekend before, which is what we asked them to do.”

Varsity girls finished in first place, while junior varsity placed third. While McNally said it was a better showing than their first competition, she still sees room for improvement.

“There were a couple of little issues, but nothing that we can’t fix moving forward,” McNally said.

Starr’s Mill hosts the next competition this weekend. The competition begins at 9 a.m  and will last all day.
