Last weekend the Starr’s Mill Boys swim team placed first at the Paw Power Invitational, 86 points ahead of McIntosh.

“The boys did really well,” boys head coach Derek Abrams. “We had a lot of fast swimming as well as we had a lot of state cuts.”

The boy who qualified for state will compete at the GHSA State Championship hosted at Georgia Tech on February 4 and 5.

Seniors Seth Roach and JD Arnold, junior Jimmy Callaghan and freshman Braden Roach placed first in the 200-yard medley relay.

Seth also placed first in the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard freestyle. Braden also placed first in multiple events.

The boys team will swim at the County Championship at Kedron Aquatic Center to attempt to win their 22nd straight County meet. The meet starts at 6 p.m. tonight.
