After a 10-5 season record for the JV season, the future looks bright for Starr’s Mill girls basketball. The JV season has already ended, but varsity is currently in the region tournament.

JV girls basketball is showing great potential for the future of the program.

This year there was a lot of interest shown in girls basketball, a lot more than has been shown in years past. This new interest led to the development of a freshmen girls team

“It was a very productive season and we started off with a 9th grade and a JV but it ended up with everyone playing JV at the end due to injuries,” Dean said.

Although in the end the two teams merged it did not stop them from executing, finishing the season 10-5.

“There is a bright future going ahead of us,” head coach Peyton Dean said.

With a team ranging from juniors to freshman it shows great numbers and substantial possibilities for the future.

The JV season has already ended, but varsity has already advanced to the semifinals of the region tournament after a 57-5 win over Riverdale last night.
