The Starr’s Mill Student Government Association provides students with the opportunity to be involved in their school. SGA allows students to give input on school issues and events as well as make an impact on their school and community.

“There are plenty of ways you can have input on what goes on at the school through SGA,” SGA sponsor Whitney Shoemaker said.

During meetings upcoming projects are discussed, presented, or current projects are worked on. Members can suggest projects of their own or participate in ideas of their fellow classmates.

Every year, SGA conducts all the homecoming events including running elections and decorating the halls and the gym. Members are privileged with the opportunity of choosing the theme and design of the dance. Along with homecoming, SGA often participates in additional student run service projects.

“I joined SGA because I wanted to be a part of a club that effects the student body,” sophomore SGA member Madison Lucas said.
