The Starr’s Mill art club provides aspiring artists a place to express their creativity. Students in the club can spend time with friends while working on their latest art projects in a relaxed environment.

This year they printed club t-shirts, learned silk screen techniques, organized art shows and went on a field trip to Atlanta Botanical Garden. Art club members are currently planning to paint a mural on the wall outside of the art room.

“In the past, we have gone on field trips to museums and to the zoo,” club sponsor Todd Little said. “This year we are going to Atlanta Botanical Garden and we are going to create an art show from our field trip experience.”

Joining art club presents students with a unique opportunity to participate in field trips and draw inspiration from the community as well as display their own talents and spread their love of art.

“Art club is a great way to meet people who share the same interests as you, and it’s a fun way to be creative,” club member junior Caroline Andrews said.
