Health Occupations Students of America is an international student organization for students that are interested in pursuing a career in healthcare.

Club members can go to regional and national competitions, intern at local hospitals around Peachtree City and Fayetteville, and attend workshops throughout the state to learn the necessary leadership skills for a career in healthcare.

HOSA runs many fundraisers to help student attend competitions and workshops. The academic club also has many scholarships available for its senior members.

Several community sponsors, including Mike and C’s, Brubaker Physical Therapy, Southern Crescent ENT, Avella Cosmetic and Family Dentistry, help fund many HOSA activities.

Even though HOSA aligns with specific state curriculum standards, anyone is able to join HOSA without having to take a healthcare-related classes in school.

“HOSA definitely helps its members learn the skills needed to enter a career in healthcare,” McKenna said.
