This school year, Starr’s Mill welcomes new English teacher Anna Hart. Hart majored in English at the College of William and Mary. While living in Richmond, Va., she taught at Matoaca High School.

Her love for reading and literature helped her to carve her path to becoming a teacher. “Majoring in English, while academically rigorous, definitely challenged me and exposed me to things I’d never probably would have if I had not,” Hart said.

Hart is diligent about making sure her students are engaged. She is constantly finding new ways to help them out. “I’m passionate about my students’ learning, and I want the environment to reflect that,” Hart said.

Hart has several interest besides English. Hart is heavily involved in music. She can play piano and is a self-taught guitar player. In her free time you’ll find her reading, drawing, hanging out with her family, or watching movies.
