Starr’s Mill welcomes learning specialist Anna Atha to the Panther family. This is her first year of teaching.

“My dad is a teacher and coach, and he’s been at the school he’s at for 30 years,” Atha said. “I just grew up watching him really impact lives, and I just felt it was my calling.”

Atha’s collaborative teaching role helps her work closely with students in small groups. Her philosophy is “kids first” and helping them get everything they need to be successful.

Atha is also entering her first year coaching girls’ basketball. She grew up in Georgia and had a lengthy background playing basketball, giving the team a whole new feel and energy.

“This year will definitely be a building year while I get the culture I want for the team moving forward,” Atha said.

Atha spends most of her free time with her fiancé who is a football coach in Tennessee. She loves to work out and has recently taken up cooking.
