Doll Skin, an LGBTQ+ friendly women-led band, takes a stand against gender inequality in the music scene. From unequal pay to stereotypical sounds, sexism in the music industry has been an ongoing battle for years. Women rarely have a big breakthrough in the music industry, particularly in the rock and alternative genre. Time and time again, people have tried shining a light on the growing issue of sexism only to be met with minimal results that do more harm than good. Fans can do their part to fight sexism in the industry by streaming and supporting the wide variety of female artists trying to make a name for themselves.
