Jeers

Jeers to an incompetent memory. Between the busyness of classes, extracurriculars, a job, and everything else everyone has going on because they are a person and not a rock, the psyche is susceptible to forgetfulness, especially this time of the year.

Jeers to assessments the week before exams. Why must we take tests on the same topics twice within a span of two weeks?

Jeers to that super cute, matches-with-everything, very chic pair of shoes in your closet, which has become its permanent home. Because despite their magnificent beauty, walking in these lovely shoes also makes your feet feel like you have put them through a meat processor, or perhaps a cheese shredder. Beauty is pain, I guess?

Jeers to those people in your life who have everything. Not because they are stuck up, but because they are impossible to shop for. If they want something, they already got it. May the odds be ever in your favor as you brave the gift-shopping quandary this holiday season.

Jeers to this being Editor-in-Chief Caroline Hubbard’s last week on The Prowler. After seven semesters, Hubbard is graduating early and must pass down her leadership role. “I can’t wait to read all of the amazing stories y’all will continue to publish. Starr’s Mill and The Prowler have helped to make my high school experience truly wonderful, and I’m going to miss each and every one of you as I start the next chapter of my life,” Hubbard said. “I leave y’all with one last bit of advice that has helped guide me through high school, the words of advisor Justin Spencer, ‘Trust the Process’.”
