Opening night full of fun, football and frivolity

Something about opening night of football season is electric.  The stands are full of students, Tailgaters, parents and faculty.  Members of the Panther Pride Marching Band pump up the crowd with their music, and, until the final score is in, the season is full of hope for a winning season.

That’s what happened at Panther Stadium on Friday, Aug. 29.  Although Panthers fell 43-21 to the visiting Whitewater Wildcats, it was still a memorable night. The varsity cheerleaders engaged a full house  with several chants, the Pantherettes dance team performed before the game, and the marching band, under the direction of Scott King and Chris Johns,  premiered their halftime show “When I Met You.”
