The Starr’s Mill bands’ Spring Sampler fundraiser, held at The Frederick Brown Amphitheater from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, featured  10 musical groups and choirs.  More than 150 students showcased their talents under blue skies that hours before the event threatened rain.

Almost two dozen local restaurants participated by giving out samplings of their fare.   Music lovers who came to the event purchased $10 tickets that let them choose six vendors. Crowds ran larger  than expected and some of the food ran out. Band Director Scott King said he is already planning ahead for next year’s event to make sure that doesn’t happen again.

The event was organized by Assistant Band Director Christopher Johns.
