Members of the Econ Challenge Team returned to campus yesterday with a huge trophy and a state title for the second year in a row.
The team consisted of seniors Leslie Perez, Jessica Richey, Donald Shoaf and Jeremiah Smith, who were coached by Economics teacher Mark DeCourcy. These four competed against 19 other teams in multiple choice and Quiz Bowl competions at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.
“Everyone did great,” DeCourcy said. “They are a very strong group and represented our school well.”
Besides taking home the win, Richey received the best overall score in the state on the multiple choice tests and Smith achieved a perfect score on the first of three multiple choice sections.
