On Sept. 9, Andrew Snider, new director and sponsor of Thespian Society troupe 6412, decided to change this year’s spring musical from “Big Fish” to “Beauty and the Beast.” The original announcement for “Big Fish” was made at Meet the Teacher before the start of the school year. However, after taking into consideration the talent pool in the drama department this year, Snider felt that they needed to jump on the opportunity to perform “Beauty and the Beast” this year.

“Although it took some convincing, musical choreographer Antonela Kljajic eventually got on board,” Snider said. To many, the change came as a shock, but change is something that the drama department has seen a lot of since the start of this year.

The new musical selection is something Snider is familiar with due to his previous experience in Disney performances at Disney World. While attending Kennesaw State University, Snider spent a summer semester interning as an entertainer in the shows and parades because he has always “been a huge Disney fan,” Snider said.
