Students select annual Homecoming court

Voting has ended and this year’s Homecoming court has been announced. Next week, Homecoming festivities will commence including the Homecoming parade and football game.

Last Friday, the Student Government Association announced the 2017-2018 Homecoming court.

The past couple of weeks, two rounds of  Homecoming voting took place during the lunch periods. Students nominated fellow members of their grade level to be on the court. Four boys and girls have been selected from each grade to serve on the court, excluding the senior class which is represented by five boys and five girls.

This year’s Homecoming parade, featuring the members of the court, will take place on Sept. 7 at 5 p.m. The parade commences at Braelinn Elementary, travels down Robinson Road and Redwine Road and finishes on Panther Path. The Homecoming court ceremony, where the winners will be announced, will take place during halftime at the Homecoming football game against Chapel Hill on Sept. 8 at 7:30 p.m.
