Starr’s Mill is expecting many new changes in the 2018-2019 school year due to massive renovations for the school’s 20th anniversary. The Starr’s Mill media center is one of many locations throughout the school that can expect major changes. As Starr’s Mill’s media center specialist, the media center’s renovations fall to Rick Wright.

“One of the things we want to try to do is to combine two things. One is to preserve the reading culture [while] at the same time [expanding on] the new technology that we will use,” Wright said.

There have been many rumors concerning the media center’s redesign that have worried parents and students alike. Wright reveals that those rumors are simply speculations and nothing more. The updated media center should better reflect the needs of the teachers and students while also providing students with a welcoming environment to inspire reading and the use of technology.
