PBIS has announced the Staff Member and Students of the Month for March.
Fellow co-worker Samantha Krage nominated science teacher Kelly Rock as March’s Staff Member of the Month. Rock was nominated for the leadership and respect she shows to her students.
“I chose Kelly Rock because she is quite possibly the best teacher I have ever known. She works tirelessly to support her students and her department,” Krage said. “She has worked through every problem, every challenge that the department has faced. I admire her for her fortitude, and I respect the way she handles situations.”
Other staff members nominated were science teachers Amy Hinote and Christie Leanza, math teacher Heather McNally, and English teacher Patrick Cheney.
English teacher Dr. Lela Crowder nominated junior Gabrielle Huggins as March’s Upperclassman of the Month. She was chosen for her responsibility and thoughtful organization of her classroom birthday celebration of Frederick Douglass.
“Gabby took the lead on a project, and she did a really good job of planning it and implementing it,” Crowder said. “I thought she was so creative and mature.”
Other upperclassmen nominated were junior Kaylee Platt and senior Wells Almand.
Math teacher Heather McNally nominated freshman Austin Brescher as March’s Underclassmen of the Month. He was chosen for his hard work, responsibility, and dedication toward his work in math.
“I chose Austin Brescher because he is extremely responsible. His grade in Accelerated Geometry/Advanced Algebra has improved tremendously since the beginning of the year,” McNally said. “He works hard, completes his assignments, asks questions, gets extra help when needed, and he is just an overall great student.”
Other underclassmen nominated were freshman Sara Kate and sophomore Alex Shaw.
Once a month, science teacher and PBIS coach Samantha Krage sends out a link to the staff so that they can nominate teachers and students on their good mannerism. The PBIS committee, composed of Krage and other staff, vote on Staff Member and Students of the Month.
