PBIS has announced the Staff Member and Students of the Month for April.
Fellow co-worker Hope Via nominated health teacher Adriah Williams as April’s Staff Member of the Month. She was nominated for her responsibility in managing six class periods and for providing a safe learning environment for her students.
“Williams is a wonderful teacher and a wonderful person,” Via said. “She is one of the hardest working people I know, and she does everything to the absolute best of her ability.”
Other staff members nominated were English teacher Patrick Cheney, math teacher Emily Sweeney, learning specialist Kendra Woods, and bookkeeper Brenda Adams.
English teacher Justin Spencer nominated senior Ella Bissonnette as April’s Upperclassman of the Month. She was chosen for her growth, leadership, and responsibility in journalism, softball, and yearbook.
“Across my years of being advisor of The Prowler, we’ve certainly accomplished and achieved a lot of things, but being able to watch students grow has been one of the greatest joys,” Spencer said. “When I think back across my 12 years as advisor, Ella is certainly at the top of that list.”
Other upperclassmen nominated were senior Samya Barber and junior Ava Ferron.
Chemistry teacher Jessica Tatum nominated sophomore Chuandong Zhao as April’s Underclassmen of the Month. He was chosen for his hard work, responsibility, and positive attitude in class.
“I chose Zhao because he is willing to work with anybody that’s around him. He’s always asking questions, and is super-respectful and responsible,” Tatum said. “ Zhao always does it with a positive attitude, so he’s amazing.”
Other underclassmen nominated were freshmen Garrett Lyman and Bryce Inagawa.
Once a month, science teacher and PBIS coach Samantha Krage sends out a link to the staff so that they can nominate teachers and students. The PBIS committee, composed of Krage and other staff, vote on Staff Member and Students of the Month.
