Every single driver knows how dangerous the roads are. Approximately 16,500 to 16,800 accidents happen every day resulting in roughly 120+ fatalities. These numbers show how serious of a problem safety on the road is. Many of these accidents are not caused by reckless driving, but by vehicles that are not equipped to handle defensive driving scenarios when they need to.
If everyone did simple modifications to their cars, it would make roads a lot safer and decrease accidents. Modifications like brake kits, coilovers, and sticky tires will all work together and make everyone safer drivers.
Braking issues account for over 300,000 accidents annually. This is a huge problem because such a small, simple issue, poor braking performance, does not need to have this big of an impact on the safety of the road and everyday commuters.
Another problem that most cars have is too much body roll. This is another significant problem with the safety of the road because rollover accidents caused by excessive body roll account for over 35% of passenger vehicle fatalities.
Ultimately, the biggest problem is that 94% of every single accident results in drivers losing control of their vehicle. This means that every year there are 5,280,000 accidents caused by drivers losing control. Fortunately, losing control, excessive body roll, and braking issues all have an easy solution.
The best solution to these three problems addressing car accidents is if everyone on the road modified their cars. Simple modifications like brake kits, coilovers, and sticky tires address each of these problems.
The first modification that everyone should do is a brake kit. After-market brakes, like brembros brakes, offer roughly 8-15% shorter stopping distance compared to standard brakes. This shorter stopping distance will significantly lower the amount of accidents caused by braking issues making the roads safer.
The next modification everyone on the road should do is installing a set of coilovers. Coilovers tremendously enhance a car by being able to adjust ride height, improve cornering, and reduce body roll. Everyone putting coilovers on their car would reduce the amount of fatal accidents caused by body roll and would make roads safer while also making every car more stylish in return.
The last mod everyone should do to make the roads safer are a set of nice, sticky tires. With 94% of accidents being caused by losing control of the vehicle it is clear that everyone needs grippier tires. Grippier tires will allow drivers to stay in control easier and will also give their car better overall handling.
Safety should be your number one priority while driving, so why not make your car safer by installing just a few simple modifications? If everyone modded their cars, everyone will have better braking performance, reduced body roll, and more control of their vehicle. This would result in far less accidents and will make roads safer in return.
