J. Elle’s “House of Marionne” has been translated in over ten languages over multiple continents. In the story, romance, glamor, and danger are all emphasized as the protagonist endures dramatic transformations.

Junior Elizabeth Cole recently read “House of Marionne” by J. Elle.

“It had an interesting, suspenseful ending,” Cole said. “I’m looking forward to the next book.”

The book follows the story of a young protagonist, Quell, who has gone her entire life struggling in an ordinary world. Her whole life changes when she undergoes a life or death experience and enters a fantasy world, handling newfound knowledge of forbidden magic which she possesses. She grows accustomed to this wonderland until hidden secrets are revealed and the toxicity of this magical society becomes transparent.

“The cover has flowers on it and it looked interesting,” Cole said.

Texan Indie writer J. Elle is a New York Times best-selling author mainly known for young adult and children’s fiction novels. Some of her popular books include “Against The Tide” and “Wings of Ebony.” A sequel to “House of Marionne,” titled “Shadows of Perl,” is expected to release on September 3, 2024.

“I would recommend [the book] to someone who is okay with stupid characters and who likes fantasy books,” Cole said.

Throughout the book, there is a sense of betrayal, mystery, and darkness. Yet, this coming-of-age fantasy novel expresses the challenges one must face as they experience new situations and grow as a person.
