Sophomore Gretchen Keyser recently enjoyed reading Natasha Preston’s “The Lost.”
“I really thought the scenes for the torture were very descriptive and were kind of disturbing,” Keyser said. “I like that.”
“The Lost” follows two best friends as they uncover the mysterious disappearances of fellow teens within their town. However, they go a bit too far and become trapped in a secluded building’s deadly survival game.
Natasha Preston is a British author known for her young adult psychological thrillers like “The Cellar” and “The Cabin.” On the other hand, she also enjoys writing some contemporary romance, and is inspired by Kirsty Moseley, Stephen King, and Jay Crownover.
“If you really enjoy, and you are afraid to go with more disturbing scenes and topics, I feel like this is a good book to try out,” Keyser said.
The book has mainly dark themes like abduction, survival, and violence.
