German teacher Amanda Thompson recently watched “Severance.”
The TV series “Severance” features a plotline where at a particular company, devices are put into employee’s brains. These devices make it possible for a separation between their home life and work to happen.
The director of the series is Ben Stiller. Playing the main character, Mark Scout, is Adam Scott. Other actors include Britt Lower, Patricia Arquette, Dichen Lachman, and John Turturro.
What did you enjoy about this series?
“I like the sci-fi dystopian sort of mystery angle of the whole thing,” Thompson said. “You never really know what is going to happen.”
What motivated you to watch this series?
“I honestly stumbled across it,” Thompson said. “I was just kind of flipping through one day and said this sounds kind of interesting.”
What was the most memorable part of this series?
“I feel like I would be giving something away if I really said the most memorable part,” Thompson said.
How is this series different from others that you have watched?
“The dystopian, you know, what is happening here?” Thompson said. “You think you know what is going on, and then you find something in a new episode and everything you thought is completely changed.”
What other films similar to this one would you recommend?
“’Lost’ is kind of that similar vibe to it,” Thompson said.
