This past month has been quite a doozy for fangirls/boys and music lovers everywhere. Album and single releases, album announcements, and tour announcements to name a few. Stemming from every corner and crevice of the industry, big artists and small seem to be having big years in their careers.

On August 28, 2025, Ariana Grande announced her “Eternal Sunshine Tour.” This is the first time she has toured in seven years as she took some time to herself to work on her craft and work on her blockbuster movies “Wicked” and “Wicked: For Good.” This tour will hit major cities in the United States before making its way to Canada and England.
The tour will span over three months, from June to August. The setlist and stage setup are yet-to-be-announced, and the presale will be on September 9, 2025. Ticketmaster is not expected to crash, but the high demand for tickets will most likely provide an extremely large queue for tickets.
A day later, after Grande announced her tour, Sabrina Carpenter released her seventh studio album, “Man’s Best Friend.” This album was released just slightly a year after her previous album, “Short n’ Sweet.” This album leaned more into the disco-y seventies vibes she tested out on the deluxe version of “Short n’ Sweet.” Carpenter officially launched into this era on June 5, 2025, with the release of the first single, “Manchild,” and the world was ready for it. The album debuted with 64.4 million streams, her biggest debut yet, and it is clear that Carpenter had so much fun with this project.
Another release that has been heavily enjoyed this month is Sombr’s sophomore album, “I Barely Know Her.” All four of the singles from the album, “Back to Friends,” “Undressed,” “We Never Dated,” and “12 to 12,” went viral on TikTok, leaving fans wanting more. This is when he announced his album 11 days before its release. Most albums are announced at least two to three months before the release, but Sombr is known for being unhinged and doing what he wants so this was quite on brand for him.
The album itself is your classic breakup album. Each song is distinct, yet cohesive, and they all follow the same theme of heartbreak. However, each song follows a different area of heartbreak. “Back to Friends” discusses how the couple will never have the same relationship, and “Undressed” and “12 to 12” mentions how Sombr does not want to love anyone else.
It is quite impressive the level of fame Sombr has already reached considering he is at the ripe age of 20. When he was going viral, however, he was still in his teens. You can probably expect to see a whole lot more of him in the coming years.
It is going to be a very exciting September music-wise. Along with the many upcoming releases, the VMAs will be held on this upcoming September 7.
