We are back with monthly new music news! This month brought us the iHeartRadio Music Awards, and new albums from Harry Styles, Charlie Puth, and BTS. Miley Cyrus also donned her famous blonde wig to become Hannah Montana for the show’s 20th anniversary.

The most notable release from this month had to be the long-awaited return of Harry Styles with his fourth album, “Kiss all the Time, Disco Occasionally.” The album consists of 12 absolute bops and emerged with much critical acclaim. The critics are all raving about how the album is completely different from anything he has ever done, and it is, in fact, working in his favor.
Of course the album has the usual couple of guitar or piano-based ballads Styles knows how to work, but he also dipped into some disco to create the rest of the album. “Dance No More,” “Are you Listening Yet?,” and “Pop” are some of the most notable dance-focused hits from the album. Along with the single “Aperture,” these three have been some of the most popular because of how different they are from the rest of Styles’s discography.
Expect to see this album nominated for many awards in the next year as everyone collectively enjoys it, and agrees it is some of the best from Styles. I predict that it will win at least one Grammy.
The iHeartRadio Music Awards premiered on March 26, and to no one’s surprise Taylor Swift took home the most awards including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and finally Pop Song and Pop Album of the Year. She also took home several fan-voted awards like Best Lyrics, Best Music Video, and Favorite Tour Style.
I quite enjoy how the show divides its Best New Artist category into genres so that more new artists can be recognized rather than just the one who keeps winning the award over and over again (Alex Warren). Warren robbed Sombr of the award again for the pop genre, but because of the category being divided, Sombr won it for the alternative genre. It is about time he got that title under his belt. He also took home Alternative Album of the Year for “I Barely Know Her.”
On March 24, 2026, Miley Cyrus regained her blonde wig and with it her pop star persona “Hannah Montana” made a comeback for her 20th anniversary. The Disney+ special contained interviews where behind-the-scenes secrets were spilled, and performances from Cyrus as Montana. Cyrus even wrote a new song to perform for her younger self in a tear-jerking moment as a montage played behind her.
This month’s music news was quite entertaining to watch as it all unfolded. So far, 2026 has been full of new albums, singles, and more, and we can only hope that the ball will keep rolling throughout the year.
