Junior Margery Weems is listening to “The Happiest Girl” by BLACKPINK. BLACKPINK is an all female K-Pop group that includes members Jennie Kim, Lailisa Monobal, Jisoo, and Rose. 

The song’s lyrics are poetic and meaning-filled, with an emphasis on heartbreak. 

“The lyrics in ‘The Happiest Girl’ have amazing imagery of a toxic relationship,” Weems said. 

“The Happiest Girl” is the headline single off of the band’s album “Born Pink.” Also included on the album is the band’s hit song “Pink Venom.” 

BLACKPINK debuted in 2016 after being signed to YG Entertainment with their breakout single “Whistle.”

“The vocals are simple but beautiful,” Weems said. “You can hear the speaker’s pain in the song.”
