Senior William Hampson is listening to “A Sunday Kind of Love” by Etta James. 

“I really like Etta’s vocals over the soft jazz background,” Hampson said. 

The song is about weekend flings being not her thing anymore, and her desire for a real relationship instead. It was released in 1960 as part of her album “At Last!” 

“The strings section is beautiful in compliment to her voice,” Hampson said. “I really enjoy the lyrics and the message she is trying to get across.” 

Etta James is an R&B artist who creates soul music. Etta has released 29 studio albums and 58 singles. The album “At Last!” rose to No. 12 on Billboard’s Top Album Catalog Albums chart.
