Junior Rayne Shirley recently listened to “colder weather” by Alexander Nate.

“The song draws me in on those late nights where you’re reminiscing about the past,” Shirley said.
Released in 2024, “colder weather” was put out on streaming services as a single. As of May 6, 2026, the song is one of the less popular songs, but still holds its own presence for those that enjoy it.
The song lyrics describe the slow fading of a relationship as ‘colder weathers’ blow throw. As Nate sings, he manages to resonate with his target audience and the shared experience of slowly losing someone you still hold close to your heart.
As a contemporary R&B song, the slow melody of the song directly targets the listener’s emotions. With strong and smooth vocals, Nate tugs on the string around the listener’s heart and the memories or loss.
“I would recommend the song, but I feel it’s best for people who want to slow down and just remember,” Shirley said.
Nate released the album “There’s No Signal In The Mountains (Deluxe)” in 2025. The album maintains the same soothing but thoughtful tone as “colder weather.” It was an additional release from his album “There’s No Signal In The Mountains” from 2023.
You can listen to “colder weather” on all major streaming platforms.
