The desire to be in a place of solace when there is so much chaos can quickly turn into desperation for peace. The feeling of being consumed by the world’s mayhem, confusion, and struggles that life provides is implied in the song “Hand of God,” forming an emotional connection with its listeners.

“Hand of God” is a more recent release by Todd Gaberth in his album “Greater.” The album showcases a series of songs with particular worship leaders that usher in the presence of God. Each song focuses on the Lord’s promise to never leave His people, regardless of the circumstances or how it feels.
The song features a collaboration with Chandler Moore, blending themes of safety, authority in Jesus, and spiritual breakthroughs throughout life.
Gaberth opens the song with the phrase, “King of all the heavens and the Earth, Jesus you died a death that I deserve.” The verbs chosen indicate that he still deserves to die, but in Jesus’ love he laid down his life for his children so that we may be free. He continues with the line, “And you calmed the sea by a word, and my life is changed by what I heard,” referring to the Lord’s authority and power from calming a sea to altering his entire being.
The chorus begins with the phrase, “You will find me safe in the hand of God,” highlighting the amount of tranquility residing in the Lord brings. That line alone hints that anywhere else the artists might be is not promising to give them security.
Chandler Moore’s verse adds to this narrative by mentioning, “I can run to you when I’m afraid, for the name of Jesus is my hiding place,” tying his protection in Jesus.
His lyrics emphasize the stillness Jesus brings when worrying about the cares of this world. When feeling like he is in chains of bondage, being in company with Jesus breaks those chains.
Despite all the disarray and havoc in the world, both Gaberth and Moore express a sense of comfort and assurance. They are surrounded by turmoil yet still experience peace.
“Hand of God” was released in September of 2025. It has not yet broken out as a hit in the usual commercial-music sense, but it has been streamed over 200,000 times on Spotify since its release.
This song ministers to my spirit as it well as intrigues me in a natural sense. It reminds me of the Lord being the most consistent being in my life and the only one I will ever need.
