The song “Happily” by One Direction is relatable for many the way it describes the driving passion about one’s relationship. “Happily” talks about the positive emotion when there is passion in a relationship and the troubles that come with still believing in being together.

The song describes to listeners that a relationship is so great that nobody’s opinion matters. Lyrics suggest a break up may have occurred but at the end of the day the two belong together.
“Happily” introduces the idea that something has happened between two people who were once together and happy. The lyrics show this by singing, “We were meant to be, but a twist of fate/Made it so we had to walk away.” As the One Direction members sing the audience begins to understand that once upon a time this relationship thrived and it ended unfortunately with left over feelings.
Later on the lyrics explain still wanting that person with the lines, “I don’t care what people say when we’re together/You know I want to be the one who holds you when you sleep.” These lyrics address the factor of just being together careless of what others think.
One side of the relationship may have moved on, or at least attempted, and the lyrics offer an invitation for that person to come back as the band members sing about the person leaving. The lyrics go, “I just want it to be you and I forever/I know you wanna leave, so come on baby, be with me so happily.”
I chose the song “Happily” because I feel I can relate to many different sides within the lines. Also, the song is really deep and catchy.
The song is in One Direction’s third studio album “Midnight Memories.” The band broke up in 2016 after being together for 6 years.
