  • April 2, 2019 - Juniors Jeff Tiller and Alex Adams play catch with a kid in the village of Dormido outside of Hawaii, Santa Rosa, Guatemala. The Peachtree City United Methodist’s youth group went on a mission trip to Guatemala over Spring Break. The mission team spent a week going to various towns and villages in the southwestern region of the country.

  • April 8, 2019 - Raindrops sit on an Iris after a storm earlier in the day.

  • April 8, 2019 - Water drops formed on a leaf.

  • April 9, 2019 - Drops of rain hit the creek water on a rainy day in April.

  • April 10, 2019 - Junior Beau Gardner bunts the ball against Jonesboro. The Panthers defeated the Cardinals in a double-header 15-0 and 11-1.

  • April 11, 2019 - Beta Club officers seniors Tori Davis, Jacob Hunt, juniors Hannah Yokosawa, and Zack Dearman give announcements for the upcoming month. The announcements consist of service projects and donations for the club members to be able to reach their desired amount of hours for the semester.

  • April 11, 2019 - Veteran and future Pantherettes warm up before tryouts. Tryouts for the dance team took place the week following Spring Break. The final roster of 14 members was announced on April 13.

  • April 11, 2019 - Dog plays in water spraying from a hose. As the weather gets warmer, people and their dogs begin to enjoy outdoor activities.

  • April 11, 2019 - Starr’s Mill students on the recreational softball team Pride celebrates a 13-1 win. Two 12&U players joined the team to help bring them to a win with several great hits and runs. The 12&U girls were pulled up to fill in for six team members who were sick.

  • April 12, 2019 - Students in Mimi Lewis’s Kindergarten class do morning work as they watch the morning announcements. They were working on letter comprehension.

  • April 12, 2019 - Students in Lela Crowder’s AP Language class created projects to get a better understanding of the American dream and American identity. Students researched different types of media such as, songs, poems, movies, or TV shows about the American dream or identity and wrote an essay based off of their research.

  • April 12, 2019 - Junior Panther Garrett Meuninck and freshman War Eagle Jackson Dunn fight for the ball after a face-off. Dunn had four out of the total 13 goals that Woodward scored. Despite Meuninck’s success on the face-offs, the Panthers still fell 13-10 to the War Eagles.

  • April 12, 2019 - Three stages of pink impatiens blooming. They are annual flowers, so they will reseed and won’t bloom until late May.

  • April 12, 2019 - Junior Zach Livsey, Jack Durham, and seniors Cole Witbrought, and Rhett Perry celebrate after answering a question correctly during the History Smackdown. The Smackdown consisted of two teams, history bowl students versus teachers, playing a Jeopardy style game with a history twist. Students took home the trophy after beating the teachers by 140 points with the final score being 760-620 points.

  • April 14, 2019 - Cross and palm leaves sit in the lobby of Peachtree City United Methodist Church on Palm Sunday. Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week. The Palm Branches that decorate the church lobby commemorate the palm branches that lined the road when Jesus rode into Jerusalem for the last time, according to

  • April 15, 2019 - Baked goods are delivered to a table in Kristin Peavyhouse’s classroom. Members of Beta Club donated baked goods to be served to new inductees and guests at the Beta Club Induction ceremony.

  • April 15, 2019 - Junior Sara Evans defends the ball from a St. Pius player. The Lady Panthers lost to St. Pius 3-0. This marked the team’s third loss in the last four games.

  • April 16, 2019 - Sophomore Chay Yeager and senior Brian Port complete a routine out to second base against the Whitewater Wildcats. The Panthers were defeated by the Wildcats 9-1 if the first game of the series.The Panthers won the next two games of the series against the Wildcats and clinched their third-straight Region 3-AAAAA championship.

  • April 17, 2019 - Students at Peeples Elementary participate in running club. Running club is for students to go outside in the morning to talk to friends or run.

  • April 17, 2019 - Flowers bloom along a Peachtree City golf cart path. Spring is a time of rebirth in nature as plants bloom and animals come out of hibernation.

  • April 18, 2019 - Sophomore Chay Yeager hits a ball in the game against Whitewater. The Panthers won 3-2 against the the Wildcats.

  • April 18, 2019 - Photo of a phoenix burns in a fire. In Greek mythology, after a phoenix dies, it is born again from the ashes of its predecessor.

  • April 19, 2019 - Courtyard between the 600 and 700 halls flooded after more than six inches of rain fell Friday morning. The rain also caused trees to fall and car crashes.

  • April 19, 2019 - Seniors Gracen O’Neal (left) and Caroline Kingsley (right) dissect a sheep brain in Robin Huggins’ anatomy class. Anatomy students dissected a lamb brain to better understand brain structure. “My favorite part was getting to cut the brain into six sections and compare them like slides,” O’Neal said. “It was surprising to see how similar each piece looked, yet they all had different abilities.”

  • April 22, 2019 - Senior Blake Helms fights to keep control of the ball in the game against Ware County. The Panthers shut out the Gators 8-0 to advance to the second round of GHSA State Playoffs.

  • April 22, 2019 - Sophomore Darby Olive knocks the ball away from a Ware County player. The Lady Panthers defeated Ware County 5-0. The soccer team will play Union Grove May 1 in the second round of state playoffs.

  • April 23, 2019 - Seniors Lea Duben (back left), Madison Schmidlkofer (back right), and Kelvin Weyl (front right) all signed to various colleges to compete in track and field events. Both Leighanne Windon (back second from left) and Ansley Wallace (back second from right) signed to play lacrosse at the college level. Trevor Hall (front left) and Jalen Lazenby (front middle) signed to continue their football career at their respective colleges.

  • April 23, 2019 - Senior Ashley Fukuyama holds a dumpling with chopsticks in Japanese Cultural Club. Fukuyama founded the club last school year to promote understanding and enjoyment of Japanese culture and food.

  • April 24, 2019 - Trophies and medals lay on a table during the Region 3-AAAAA track meet.

  • April 24, 2019 - Seniors Mitchell Harris, Nick Nyman, Harrison Fultz, and Jalen Lazenby hold the Region 3-AAAAA championship trophy. These four runners also won the 4x400-meter relay.

  • April 25, 2019 - Freshman Emma Grace Hepler cradles the ball against McIntosh Chiefs. The Lady Panthers defeated the Lady Chiefs 17 -1.

  • April 25, 2019 - The sun sets behind the home stadium at McIntosh during the Battle of the Bubble varsity boys lacrosse game. The Lady Panthers clinched an area title with their 17-1 win over McIntosh, and the boys’ team locked up a No. 2 seed in the state playoffs after defeating the Chiefs 15-7.

  • April 25, 2019 - Junior Garrett Meuninck and junior Eric Fewell celebrate after the lacrosse team’s win over McIntosh. The Panthers defeated their crosstown rival 15-7 to secure a No. 2 seed in the state playoffs. With the win, the 2019 class became the first senior class to defeat McIntosh four years in a row.

  • April 25, 2019 - Popcorn and movie tickets are held at the opening night of “Avengers: Endgame.” The movie has been highly anticipated and many Starr’s Mill students flocked to the movie’s opening weekend.

  • April 26, 2019 - Students wrote cards for Teacher Appreciation Week to earn Beta Club hours. Students could write to any teacher, custodian, cafeteria staff, or administrator. Teacher Appreciation Week is students and parents appreciating teachers for all the hard work they do.

  • April 26, 2019 - 2019 tassel rests on a gown. Commencement ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. on May 24 in Panther Stadium.

  • April 29, 2019 - Senior Elizabeth Lindley prepares to take a practice AP Macroeconomics exam in Mark Decourcy’s class. Many AP teachers are taking advantage of the long classes during Milestone testing to practice for AP exams, which begin on May 6. A block schedule was used for the first half of the day and bells were held during Milestone testing.

  • April 30, 2019 - Junior Ryan Baker helps pass out yard signs to the seniors as the school year comes to an end. Yard signs are an annual fundraiser for the drama department.
