Lady Panthers shut out Raiders in season opener

Starr’s Mill opened their region schedule Tuesday night with a 10-0 victory over Riverdale.

Senior Chloe Spradlin led the Lady Panthers with four assists, while junior Sara Evans managed a trio of goals. Junior Sofia Varmeziar had two goals and one assist, sophomore Maddi Defler picked up two goals, and sophomore Luzmila Moreira added one goal and one assist.

Sophomore Hannah Jacoby contributed two assists, and freshman Sasha Stanphill and sophomore Haylee Kearns added one goal each. 

Junior Jacqueline Reardon got the shutout at goal. 

The Panthers start the year 1-0-0 overall and 1-0-0 in Region 3-AAAAA. The team travels to Carrolton on Friday night for a junior varsity and varsity girls’ doubleheader with JV kicking off at 6 p.m. and varsity following at 7:30 p.m.
